Sustainable tour
See Copenhagen from the green side
Copenhagen is a green and eco-friendly capital city and is very determined to become even more sustainable.
Copenhagen aims to become the first carbon neutral city in the world. An ambitious goal and the efforts concentrate on four main areas: Energy efficiency, energy production, mobility & transport, and climate adaptation.
Copenhagen is for a large part surrounded by water, and due to the increased risk of heavy rainfalls, storms, and flooding, the city has set a plan for climate change adaptation in motion. At this point, several initiatives have been implemented or are in progress that will ensure that the excess water is collected and sent to the waterfront instead of the streets.
More than half of the Copenhageners use their bike as their main transportation and 40 % of the energy used in Copenhagen comes from wind energy.
On this tour, we will let you in on the sustainability strategies of Copenhagen, recycling waste, urban gardening, and planning, public transportation, organic food, and eco-friendly architecture.
